New Helsinki Quartet

Violinist Taija Angervo began her music studies in 1979 at the Päijät-Häme Conservatory in Lahti. In 1994, she transferred to the Sibelius Academy, where she studied under Seppo Tukiainen and Mi-Kyung Lee, completing her violin diploma in the spring of 2000. She also studied at the Kuhmo Violin School with Zinaida Gilels, Ilja Grubert, and Pavel Vernikov, attended numerous masterclasses, and studied from 1998 to 1999 at the Cologne University of Music under Mihaela Martin. Taija Angervo serves as the Second Concertmaster of the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra and plays a Giovanni Baptista Rogeri violin, crafted circa 1700.
