Guitarist
Orestis Tsekouras was born in Patras, Greece. His artistic interest focuses on contemporary music and improvisation. He strives to create sounds that are on the borders of instrumental and electronic sounds, experimenting with the role of a plucked instrument in the context of chamber music. He took his first music lessons at the Municipal Conservatory of Patras and is getting his diploma from Athenaeum Conservatory with Haris Kanellidis. He attends theory courses with A. Koumenteris, while for several years he has been a member of Y. Mouloudakis’ guitar seminars. He attended the summer courses at Darmstadt, Electronic Music Composition (KSYME) and masterclasses with R. Aussel, M. Dylla, R. Dyens, K. Anastasiadis. He records for the Greek National Opera and the dotGuitar label. A member of àktapha ensemble for contemporary music, at the moment, he’s conducting a music workshop in Ikaria island and teaching in Athens.
