Ensemble "Manos Hadjidakis"
Vivi Geka was born in Athens and from a very young age, she was involved in music. She studied music theory, solfege, piano, and music education at the Angelas Lalounis Conservatory and the Hellenic Conservatory. She studied cello with Dimitris Gouzios and classical guitar with Dionysis Apostolatos. She obtained a diploma in harmony and music theory with Yiannis Kastrinos. She also studied mandolin with Dionysis Apostolatos, participating for years in mandolin ensembles and choirs. She received a diploma in classical mandolin from the Erato Conservatory.
She has collaborated with significant Greek composers and performers (such as Mikis Theodorakis, Manos Hadjidakis, Thanos Mikroutsikos, Dimitris Lagios, Nikos Xydakis, George Kouroupos, Vassilis Dimitriou, Nikos Mavroudis, Stamatis Kraounakis, Maria Farantouri, Alkistis Protopsalti, Odysseas Peridis, Alkinoos Ioannidis, Vasilis Germanos, Nikos Platyrachos, etc.) in concerts in Greece and abroad. She also collaborates with the ERT Symphony Orchestra, the Athens State Orchestra, the Camerata, the Orchestra of the Greek National Opera, the Thessaloniki State Orchestra, the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra, and significant orchestras abroad. She has a significant presence in recordings in the music industry and theater. For several years, she was a member of the Orchestra of Colors and the Athenian Mandolin Ensemble. She is a permanent member of the ensemble “Manos Hadjidakis” and a collaborator of Nena Venetsanou. In 2004, along with Stella Kypreou, they released the CD “Erotiki Polyrhythmia” with 21 melodies by Manos Hadjidakis for guitar and mandolin. She is involved in composition and improvisation, performing in various music venues in Greece with the Trio Solvista ensemble. She teaches mandolin, music theory, and music education.
She is a graduate of the Hellenic Open University in Humanities (European Civilization).
