He was born in Thessaloniki and began his musical studies at the State Conservatory of the city. With a scholarship from the Swiss state, he graduated from the ‘International Opera School’ in Zurich and continued his studies at the ‘Music Academy’ in Vienna. In 1976, he made his first appearance at the Salzburg Festival under the direction of Herbert von Karajan and has since repeatedly participated in opera events in this city. He has performed at international festivals in Europe and in cities in Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Spain, and Cyprus. In Greece, he has collaborated with the Greek National Opera, the Athens Concert Hall, the Thessaloniki Concert Hall, the State Orchestras of Athens and Thessaloniki, and the Thessaloniki City Symphony Orchestra.
