Giorgos Kalantzopoulos (Γιώργος Καλαντζόπουλος) was a notable Greek set designer and costume designer active in the mid-20th century. He contributed to various theatrical productions in Greece, particularly known for his work in the 1950s and 1960s. Among his notable works are the set designs for Aristophanes’ “Όρνιθες” (Birds) during the 1973 and 1974 seasons at venues such as the Odeon of Herodes Atticus in Athens and the Ancient Theatre of Philippi in Kavala. He also designed the set for “Ρωμύλος ο Μέγας” (Romulus the Great) in the 1972-1973 season, “Μορφές ονείρου” (Forms of a Dream) during the 1971-1972 season, and “Άμλετ” (Hamlet) in 1975-1976 at the Rialto Theatre in Athens. Additionally, he worked on productions for the National Opera of Greece, such as “Ορφεύς και Ευρυδίκη” (Orpheus and Eurydice) and “Παραβολή” (Parable) by Yorgos Sicilianos during the 1976-1977 season.
