Elena Topalidou was born in Athens. She studied dance at the State School of Dance and piano at the National Conservatory of Athens. As a dancer, she was a core member of the Oktana Dance Theatre from 1993 to 2005, participating in all its productions. She also collaborated with Dimitris Papaioannou and the Edafos Dance Company, the National Theatre of Greece, the State Theatre of Northern Greece, the RootlessRoot company, and others.

As an actress, Topalidou worked with the National Theatre of Greece, the State Theatre of Northern Greece, the Athens and Epidaurus Festival, and the Onassis Cultural Centre, performing under directors such as Michail Marmarinos, Nikos Karathanos, Lefteris Vogiatzis, Lydia Koniordou, Konstantin Bogomolov, and Akillas Karazisis. She has also appeared in Greek feature and short films.

In 1999, she received the Best Female Performance Award for the production The Lady of the Camellias, choreographed by Konstantinos Rigos. In 2020, she won the Best Actress Award for her performance in Thelyia Petraki’s short film Bella. In 2022, she received the Best Actress Award at the Iris Awards of the Hellenic Film Academy for her role in Magnetic Fields, directed by Giorgos Goussis.

Since 2011, Topalidou has been teaching classical ballet at the Greek National Opera’s Dance School.
