The  Athens Experimental Ballet (Πειραματικό Μπαλέτο Αθηνών) was founded in 1965 by the acclaimed Greek choreographer and dancer Yannis Metsis. The company emerged as a pioneering force in the Greek dance scene, dedicated to the exploration and development of neoclassical ballet within Greece. Metsis, a prominent figure in Greek ballet, sought to create a platform where traditional ballet techniques could merge with contemporary artistic expressions, resulting in innovative and experimental performances.
