Violinist
Greek National Opera
Argyro Sira graduated from the Hellenic Conservatory, where she studied violin under Stelios Kafantaris, earning a first prize and special distinction. She continued her studies in France with scholarships from the State Scholarships Foundation (IKY), the Onassis Foundation, and the French Government. She studied with Le Dizes and Dogarey at the Higher Conservatories of Boulogne and Bordeaux, graduating with the highest distinctions and awards, and served as an assistant professor at the Conservatory of Boulogne.
Sira has worked with the national orchestras of Metz, Nancy, and Bayonne, as well as the Symphony and Opera of Bordeaux. She also played with the Camerata – Friends of Music Orchestra as concertmaster until 2000. Since 2001, she has been the principal first violinist in the second violins of the Greek National Opera Orchestra.
She was a member of the World Youth Orchestra, recorded for French, Belgian, Dutch, and Greek Radio, and was a founding member of the Skalkottas Ensemble. As a soloist, she has collaborated with the Bordeaux Youth Orchestra, the Greek Radio Orchestra, the Camerata, and the Thessaloniki State Symphony Orchestra. Sira is also a graduate of the Faculty of Philosophy at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
