Pianist
Anna Tsitsa-Kounio was born in Thessaloniki, Greece. She graduated from the class of Athanasios Kontos at the State Conservatory of Thessaloniki with Distinction and First Prize. She then continued her studies in Paris with Blanche Bascourret de Guéraldi and Jeanne Blanchard, as well as Alfred Brendel, Jörg Demus, and Paul Badura-Skoda in Vienna. Tsitsa-Kounio won prizes at several competitions such as the Viotti International Music Competition. She appeared in Greece and abroad in recitals and as a soloist with major orchestras and taught piano at the New Conservatory of Thessaloniki. Tsitsa-Kounio passed away on August 15th, 2024.
