Swift Little Evzon (Ευζωνάκι Γοργό) is a song composed by Theofrastos Sakellaridis (Θεόφραστος Σακελλαρίδης), with lyrics by Giorgos Tsokopoulos (Γιώργος Τσοκόπουλος) and Babis Anninos (Μπάμπης Άννινος). The song is from the War Panathenaea of 1913 (Πολεμικά Παναθήναια του 1913), an acclaimed production performed by the troupe of Marika Kotopouli (Μαρίκα Κοτοπούλη) at the Kotopouli Theatre (θέατρο Κοτοπούλη). This production was notably successful, running for over 200 performances and capturing the triumphant spirit of the contemporary wars.

About the composer:

Theofrastos Sakellaridis (Θεόφραστος Σακελλαρίδης) was a significant Greek composer and conductor, born on 7 September 1883 in Athens and passing away on 2 January 1950. He is considered a pioneer of Greek operetta. Sakellaridis studied music in Germany and Italy, composing his first opera, “O Hymenaios” (Ο Υμέναιος), in 1903. His notable works include the operetta “O Vaftistikos” (Ο Βαφτιστικός), which remains popular. Over his career, he composed around 80 operettas and numerous other musical pieces, greatly contributing to Greek musical theatre.
