Cellist
Jean Reculard was a French cellist active in the mid-20th century, known for his collaborations with other musicians and his focus on contemporary classical compositions. He frequently performed with his wife, Mireille Reculard, and together they specialised in performing works by composers such as Bohuslav Martinů, Paul Hindemith, and Pierre Ancelin. One notable recording by the Reculards was their album 3 Sonates Contemporaines, which featured works for cello and piano, including pieces by these composers.
In addition to his performance career, Jean Reculard contributed to a number of radio and concert broadcasts, particularly in France, where he helped bring modern classical music to broader audiences.
