Stamos Semsis

Στάμος Σέμσης

Violist, Violinist, Singer, Songwriter

Echo (Ηχώ) String Quartet

Stamos Semsis, born on October 1, 1964, is a Greek violinist, songwriter, and singer.

Stamos is the son of Michalis Semsis, who was the first violinist for years in the State Orchestra of Athens, and the brother of Dimitris Semsis, who held the same position in the Greek Camerata and, from 2003, in the State Orchestra. He is also the grandson of Dimitris Semsis, a virtuoso traditional violinist known as “Salonikios.”

Stamos began playing the violin at the age of five, with his father as his teacher. He later went on to study at the Royal College of Music in London, where he earned a diploma as a soloist. Following his studies, he joined the Greek Camerata as a violinist. His musical journey reflects a deep connection to a family legacy rooted in classical and traditional music, yet Stamos has carved out his own path in the world of songwriting and singing, blending his rich musical heritage with contemporary influences.
