He was born in Athens. He studied at the National Conservatory with the Maggie Karatzas, graduating in 1972. He continued his studies with Andreas Paridis and at the Royal Academy of London, with the mezzo-soprano Constance Shacklock. He has performed in Cyprus, England, Germany, France, Monaco, USA, Italy, Turkey, Argentina, Egypt, Austria, Hungary. He has collaborated with the Athens State Orchestra and the Thessaloniki State Orchestra, the Camerata Hellenica and the renaissance orchestra Capriccio Stravagante. Besides operas his repertoire also includes religious music such as St. Matthew Passion (Matthäuspassion) and St. John Passion (Johannes- Passion) by Bach, Messiah by Handel, etc. He made appearances at the National Theater, the Free Theater, on cinema and on TV. He has sang modern Greek songs (Markopoulos’ The Liturgy of Orpheus, etc.) and has participated in the recordings of many works by Greek composers: Euripides IV by Thanos Mikroutsikos (1980) and A Tribute to El Greco by Vangelis Papathanasiou. He collaborated with the GNO from 1979 to1999, singing leading and minor roles in 18 operas and two operettas and 38 productions and/or revivals. Among others he sang the roles of Macduff (Macbeth), Don Ottavio (Don Giovanni), Prince Orlofsky and Falke (Die Fledermaus), Camille, Count de Rosillon (Die lustige Witwe), Arturo (Lucia di Lamermoor), Ernesto (Don Pasquale), Baron Franz Schober (Das Dreimädelhaus), The Witch (Hänsel und Gretel), Goro (Madama Butterfly), Joe (La Fanciulla del West), Jewish man A’ and Slave (Salome) (Odeon of Herodes Atticus, 1980).
