Swiss-Greek conductor Georgios Balatsinos has performed at renowned festivals and prestigious concert venues, including the Berliner Philharmonie (with the Berliner Symphoniker in 2016), the Wiener Musikverein, the Konzerthaus Wien (2015), the Athens Festival (Norma with the Greek National Opera, 2019), the Stavros Niarchos Concert Hall (Greek National Opera, 2018-19), and the Athens Megaron Concert Hall (Athens State Orchestra, 2017-2020), among others.

Balatsinos has collaborated with esteemed artists such as Carmen Giannattasio, Kyrill Trousov, Latica Honda-Rosenberg, Wolfgang Boettcher, Nobuko Imai, and Francesco Nicolosi, as well as with acclaimed directors including Carlus Padrisa (Norma, Athens Festival 2019), Barrie Kosky (The Magic Flute, Greek National Opera 2018), Mirko Mahr (SNE Bautzen, 2022), Guido Zamara (Turandot, Centro Busoni, Empoli 2024), and Waldemar Zawodziński (L’Italiana in Algeri, Opera Wrocławska).

He has conducted orchestras across Europe, including the Berliner Symphoniker (Germany), Oper Wuppertal (Germany), NOSPR (Poland), Orchestra Sinfonica Siciliana (Italy), Sinfonica di Milano (Italy), Czech Chamber Philharmonic, Hofkapelle Meiningen (Germany), Athens State Orchestra, Südwestdeutsche Philharmonie Konstanz (Germany), Orchestre Philharmonique de Nice (France), and Opera Wrocław, among others. His international engagements have taken him to Hungary, Bulgaria, Lithuania, the Moscow Philharmonic and Novosibirsk Philharmonic (Russia), and the National Arts Orchestra (Canada).

As a committed student, Balatsinos participated in numerous international masterclasses with distinguished conductors such as David Zinman, Péter Eötvös, Gennady Rozhdestvensky, Gianluigi Gelmetti, Michail Jurowski, Neeme Järvi, and Johannes Schlaefli. He was also a finalist in the 15th Conductor Workshop “Interaction” of the Critical Orchestra Berlin, working with leading musicians from ensembles including the Berliner Philharmoniker, Staatskapelle Berlin, and Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden. His comprehensive training spans violin, viola, singing, composition, and conducting, having studied under Ralf Weikert and Vittorio Parisi at the music academies of Detmold, Geneva, Bern, Lucerne, and Milan.

For the 2023-24 season, Balatsinos has been appointed Permanent Guest Conductor of Opera Breslau (Opera Wrocławska) and serves as Chief Conductor of SNE Theatre in Bautzen, Germany.
