Pianist
Dionysis Semitekolos began learning music at the Philharmonic of the Municipality of Zakynthos with teacher Konstantinos Samsarello at the age of seven, playing the clarinet. Early on, he showed an interest in playing the piano, which he began to study systematically at the Kalveio Music School of Dim. Lagios. He continued his studies in Athens, in the class of Mairi Tzoutou Halaris, obtaining his diploma. From an early age, he came into contact with Giorgos Hatzinikos, by whom he was deeply influenced. In addition to the systematic presentation of the classical repertoire, he has been particularly involved in researching and highlighting the pianistic literature of Zakynthos, having presented all surviving works of the 19th century. Recently, he has been collaborating with the Department of Sound Technology and Musical Instruments of the TEI of the Ionian Islands, having recorded the first vinyl record from this rare material. He has premiered the majority of the songs and other works of the Zakynthian composer Alekos Xenos and has recorded two vinyl records with his works. He has been particularly engaged in promoting music to children, having presented performances that involve music with theatre, painting, song, pantomime, and puppet theatre. For this activity, he has been invited and presented at a special tribute evening at the Pedagogical Department of the Department of Music Studies of the Ionian University. He teaches piano at the Music School of Zakynthos.
