Bulgarian Symphony Orchestra

Alkis Panayotopoulos studied harmony, counterpoint and fugue with Giannis Papaioannou, conducting with Hans Schwarowsky (Vienna), Pierre Derveaux (Paris) and composition with Harold Genzmer (Munich). From his works, which include five agreements, Symphony No. 2 was awarded by the Ministry of Culture and “Heroic Scenes” by the Municipality of Athens. He started his work in Greece recording with the Symphony Orchestra of the Greek National Broadcasting Corporation. He has collaborated with important European orchestras such as: the Danish Radio Symphony Orchestra, Lorraine Philharmonic Orchestra (France), Wroclaw Symphony Orchestra (Poland), Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra, Sofia Symphony Orchestras, Varna Symphony Orchestras, and Symphony Orchestras of Burgas (Bulgaria), ΟΟRT Symphony Orchestra and many contemporary music ensembles. Since 1995 he has been chief conductor of the Bulgarian Symphony Orchestra.
