Conductor
Boris de Vinogradov (1929–2008) was a renowned classical percussionist and conductor. He began his conducting studies with Eugène Bigot and earned first prizes in musicology and percussion at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique (CNSM) in Paris. Over his career, he held significant roles, including being the principal conductor of the Orchestre de l’Opéra and directing many other prestigious orchestras such as the Orchestre National de Radio-France and the Orchestre de Chambre de l’O.R.T.F.
Vinogradov was deeply interested in the intersection of sound, image, and gesture, collaborating closely with filmmakers, actors, and choreographers. From December 1987 until June 2007, he was the principal conductor of the Orchestre des Universités de Paris-Jussieu. His work significantly contributed to the development and performance of contemporary classical music.
